Knitting Set for Machair Cushion

This knitting set contains everything you need to knit the Machair Cushion, designed by Meg Rodger on the Isle of Berneray in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland.

The cushion pattern is inspired by the varied flora of the machair - the raised beach area between the hill and shore found in the Outer Hebrides. The patterns depict the leaves and buds of the wild flowers amongst seed heads of rye.

The set includes:

4 x 50g balls Bog Cotton yarn

Shell buttons

Printed knitting pattern

Grey tote bag with The Birlinn Yarn Company logo

Instructions:

The cushion is constructed in three separate parts: front and back (lower and upper). The pattern’s main stitch is reversed stocking stitch but it also includes cables, travelling stitches, bobbles, button-holes and yarn over stitches.

This is a charted pattern.
