Meg Rodger started The Birlinn Yarn Company in 2015. Based on the Island of Berneray in the Outer Hebrides, Meg and her family rear pedigree Hebridean sheep with consideration for their beautiful island's ecology and sustainability at the heart of what they do.

Fondly referred to as "Seafaring Sheep”, Meg transports her flock by boat to feed on the rich machair found on the neighbouring islands in the Sound of Harris. Meg combines her Hebridean fleece with locally sourced Cheviot fleece to produce a range of beautifully coloured knitting yarns.
